All Beings Are Our Mothers:
Meditation for Love and Belonging
We are connected by love
Every wisdom tradition recognizes that we live in relationship. Every spiritual tradition describes our connection of love and harmony.
In the Buddhist tradition it is said, All Beings Are Our Mothers or someone very dear to us from the past.
The love that leads to enlightenment
Far from being a simple phrase, All Beings Are Our Mothers is the first stage of an ancient (2,500 years old) and authentic meditation practice from the Buddhist tradition.
It is one of only two practices known to develop the supreme love that leads to enlightenment.
Blessings of the meditation include:
- Extraordinary love and appreciation for your mother of this lifetime. The beginning of healing any conflicts between you.
- A sense of belonging.
- Profound heart-to-heart resonance with people in your life, including strangers who pass through for only a moment.
- Recognition of the genuine goodness in people, and the way to hold that awareness even when you feel they have caused you harm.
- Tangible realization of your love and compassion expanding.
- Experiences that will stay with you and enrich you for the rest of your life.
All Beings Are Our Mothers and the subsequent stages are not often taught in traditional meditation programs. As far as I know, this is the first time the practice has ever been offered outside a Buddhist environment.
Do you need to be a Buddhist?
Love and Connection are universal qualities. You can practice these teachings and experience their beauty whatever your path may be. You do not need to be a Buddhist and you don’t turn into one by exploring this meditation.
If you believe in reincarnation, you can sink into All Beings Are Our Mothers and enrich your understanding.
If you don’t believe in reincarnation, or if you’re not sure, you can take the teachings as a metaphor for extending your love to all beings.
Be exactly who you are. I have extraordinary confidence in the blessings of the practices. I know they will transform your heart in all the ways that are most perfect for you.
Who am I to teach this?
I have been practicing meditation for over 20 years and took my first Buddhist vows in 2001. My Teacher gave me a direct insight into All Beings Are Our Mothers that same year. It has been a principal practice of mine ever since. I have asked for and received His permission to teach it publicly. I am delighted and humbled to share this precious meditation with you.
