Sky Blue Turquoise Mala

97.00

I want you to know I have some questions about the turquoise in this 21 bead sky blue mala.

The world of turquoise is vast. There are books and websites devoted to turquoise the world over. Some focus on turquoise that comes from a single mine.

The beads were listed as rare blue turquoise when I purchased them, and this color is seen in turquoise.

My uncertainty about their heritage comes from the light weight of the beads, and the matrix.

Still, whatever their geology, I love the color and rustic quality. (Speaking of color, the beads are more sky blue, with more lavender or periwinkle shading than the image here.)

With malas like these, where each bead is so unique, I always find one or two beads I especially love. Beads which call forth some quality of attention or dearness that infuses my practice.

Maybe you will find that on this turquoise mala as well. You can click both photos for a better view of the beads. (Use your “back” button to return here.)

The Guru bead is a beautiful old, possibly antique, Tibetan bead made of naga shell.

This is a mala for holding rather than wearing. It is very comforting to hold these in your hands while your chant mantras or rest in the nature of mind.

The energy is soft and healing… Perhaps the mala is turquoise after all.
